As his first Hindi film, Jawan (roughly translated as "Soldier") is a 2023 Indian Hindi-language action thriller that Atlee co-wrote and directed. Red Chillies Entertainment, under the direction of Gauri Khan and Gaurav Verma, produces it. Shah Rukh Khan plays a father and son who are identical twins in the movie and work together to fight societal corruption. In supporting roles are Nayanthara, Vijay Sethupathi, Deepika Padukone (in a surprise appearance), Priyamani, and Sanya Malhotra.
Beginning in September 2021, principal photography began in Pune, Mumbai, Hyderabad, Chennai, Rajasthan, and Aurangabad. Anirudh Ravichander composed the soundtrack and background music for the movie, which also included G. K. Vishnu for the photography and Ruben for the editing.
