Om Raut co-wrote and directed Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior, which was produced by Bhushan Kumar, Krishan Kumar, and Ajay Devgn under T-Series Films and Ajay Devgn FFilms. It is based on the life of Maratha warrior Tanaji Malusare and stars Ajay Devgn, Kajol, and Saif Ali Khan. Neha Sharma, Sharad Kelkar, and Luke Kenny also appear in supporting roles. It is set in the 17th century and revolves around Tanaji's attempts to retake the Kondhana fortress after it is passed on to Mughal emperor Aurangzeb, who gives it to his trusted guard Udaybhan Singh Rathore.
