Rishi is the jovial offspring of Bhupathi, a strong village leader and dictator who is well-liked by the villagers. As a result of his father's influence, Rishi develops into an exact replica of him. Bhupathi sends his son to Bangalore for studies and to study music because he does not want him to pursue a life of violence. There, Rishi falls in love with Deepali, an orphan, and brings her home under the guise of his former music teacher so that his father will be pleased with him for giving up violence.
