Ayan Mukerji is the author and director of the 2022 Indian Hindi-language fantasy action-adventure film Brahmstra: Part One - Shiva. Along with Ranbir Kapoor and Marijke DeSouza, it is produced by Karan Johar, Apoorva Mehta, Namit Malhotra, and Mukerji (in his debut production) under the production companies Dharma Productions, Starlight Pictures, and Prime Focus in partnership with Star Studios. The movie is the first in a trilogy that will be the first entry in a larger film universe known as the Astraverse. It features Amitabh Bachchan, Alia Bhatt, Ranbir Kapoor, Nagarjuna Akkineni, Mouni Roy, and cameos by Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone.
